Stance looks perfect to me! I don't go for the really really low look though.

It looks great to me. If you were shooting for the slammed look, I guess I could see your point though. If you want to go very low I think Hotchkis is not the best choice. Eaton Detroit will make a set for you as low as you want. I bought a set of springs from them and they did just what I asked of them. You might want to give them a call and see what they say about how low you can go! Maybe dropped spindles would help but now I am realy out of my element smile.gif

What type and size wheels are those? I just replaced front and back springs on mine and I was kind of hoping it was going to be a little lower too. I used 1" lower springs from eaton, I guess you really don't realize how much you car has sagged down over the last 30 years til you put in new ones though, I think original height springs would have made it look like a 4/4. It is going to ride so much better I'm sure. I am waiting till I get my wheels on till I make my desision as, I might take them off and take them back and have them rearched and chop a little off the fronts..I don't live that far from Eaton...speedy

My car sits pretty much exactly the same, and at first I too was unhappy with it. I decided to leave it for the most part, and now I am really happy with it. You'll appreciate the ground clearance when you drive the car, you won't be as paranoid when you drive it hard.

My advise would be to leave it, and once you start driving it around and see the car out of the garage, etc, you may change your perspective. Looks really nice though, I really like the wheels. Are those Boyd's? In addition, how do you like the rollbar, who did you get it from, etc? Looks like a Alston unit. Drop me an e-mail if you feel like it.

Nice car.

I know I said this before, but don't cut anything until you get the car completely back together. I couldn't tell from the pics what wasn't on there, but there appears to be a lot of weight still to be added. Bumper, door glass, grill, etc. It all adds up. This is the only time you will be happy about making your car heavier.

One more thing. Once I got my alignment the car settle a little more. I had my entire suspension taken apart and the rough alignment I did kind of put the suspension at a bind. Once I had the alignment and drove it I was shocked at how low it is. Be patient!!

I think it looks great the way it is. It will settle some more as it is broken in and if your roads are anything like our roads and parking lots, you don't want to go any lower or you'll be picking up pieces on the side of the road.

First, I would like to say Nice Car!!! I don't know how low you were shooting for but it does look good and may settle a bit but I think a inch is pushing it. If you do need to install more parts like interior, glass, bumers, etc. I would wait and leave it alone for now. I am one of the guys that likes camaros a little lower than Hotchkis springs tend to make them sit so I know were you are comming from. If you do lower it more do it evenly as the car has a nice level stance. Good luck.

Nice looking project. I too have a '69 that sits too high, but I think the guys that installed my Hotchkis springs, tightened the A-Arms in th air. In past posts I did see someone that was saying that their springs were contacting the frame and required a little frame grinding to fix. Hope this helps.

O man...I love that car. What is the color red you are using? I like the stance too and I think if you cut a coil it might go lower than you want.
Beautiful Car

Thanks guys...... I'm running 18's..... they are Bonspeed Delta's, only the second set ever made smile.gif ... they were a custom job for a wheel distributor that I met at a car show and Bonspeed is just starting to offer them to the public.... mine is the first commercial set....so basically its a "one off" design..... I wanted soemthing different that no one else would have or least not common.....

All the "big stuff" is in the car, but yes there is alot of "small stuff" that will add up the weight. I'm not planning on making a final decision until its all together and the suspension is broken in alttle. I dont want it to sit perfect now, only to have it sit too low when its all done and settled.....right now at least, its too high for my taste, but we'll see when its all done.....

The color is from the 2002 Dodge truck...... my friend owns one and I just loved the shade of red, so thats what I picked.... I must have looked at 200 shades of red.......

The cage is an Alston that I had a friend weld in. H also made custom SFC's that tie into the cage....

Looks darn perfect to me!
I'd live with it for a while and see how it settles.
How do you like the fit of that cage?

What is the color of that Viper in the colors section of your pictures?

DRJDVM
Mar 3rd, 03, 05:41 PM
The grey Viper ????? Its either the 2000 Steel grey (alittle more blue)or the 2002 Graphite Metallic grey ( a darker grey)... The one out in front of the house is graphite metallic grey. I seriously considered both colors but was totally sure it would look good on a 1st gen.... most of the people herre thought it wouldnt.......
