I'm stuck for a correct answer. I have a totally restored 69RS/Z28 with "NO" drivetrain and a documented shipping date of October 26,1968.To put the correct motor and transmission into this car what are the ranges in dates that I need to look for.Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated....Thanks...BBS...

BBS, Where did you get the shipping date? What are the numbers off your trim tag for the build date of the body? Should be a two number code followed by a letter of the alphabet (i.e. 07A would be 7th month, first week, 10C would be 10th month, 3rd week). Once you have the build date, then I believe you should have drivetrain dating 2 weeks to a month prior to the build date. Not positive on this, but I think that's the range.

Normally, most of the drivetrain pieces are w/in 30 days of the cars build date. Of course there are lots of exceptions.
