Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get upgraded disc pads for my '67. The local parts houses around here say that there aren't any available other than stock organic. During recent restoration I swapped drum for disc in the front, and am happy with everything except the noise. Somebody told me ceramic pads were the quietest. Anybody have any recomendations?

Did you use 4-piston or single-piston brakes? Semi-metallic pads usually are not as noisy as organics, but they may not be readily available for the 4-piston setup. Might look into these by Hawk if that's what you have:

Thanks for the reply Jim! They are single piston.

Those parts houses are full of it! Metallic pads for single-piston brakes are all over the place. My '72 Nova (same brakes) has had OEM (junk), Repco MetalMaster (only work when hot), Delco metallics (excellent, wish they still made them), EIS metallic (also excellent & unavailable), Raybestos metallic (junk), and will probably get Albany metallics from Auto Zone next time because they work great in my T-bird. An occasional squeal is not unusual with metallic disc brakes, but sometimes a hard stop will cure it for a while. The anti-squeal goo helps, too.

Yeah you would think that they would be easy to find but all the "step up" pads go back to '68. I'm not sure what the difference is between '67 and '68. Even that link in your first reply only goes back to '68. I read in a magazine about this place that will re-pad any core you send them. Might try that...thanks partner!

You mentioned using a single piston caliper. This would make it a '69 or newer.

Hey guys, just a follow-up. I called Classic Performance Products where I bought the brake kit from and they said to ask for a "154" style pad. He said if I asked for a '86 Camaro they would be the ones. So good call a67, and thanks for your help Jim.
