my friend has a 77 camaro that he wants to start the body work. he wants to replace both quarter panels. if he supplies the panels how much would it cost to have the old ones cut out and new ones welded in place?(just ball park figure) also is the primer that comes on the panels safe to drive around with? because i know that some primer sucks in water.
thanks guys

1st, if the e-coat is of good quality, it will last for a small while until the UV rays break it down.

2nd, a ball park to hang a 1/4.....25 hrs. a side, finished in 80 g.

The plastic will be finished with 80 grit sand paper. Some people will finish with 180 grit also, but the norm is 80 g.

Tom,

25 hours a side equates to about 2,500 dollars TOTAL using a 50.00 dollar a hour base (Dallas rates).

I have seen rates as low as 35.00 an hour ($1,750 total) and as high as 65.00 an hour ($3,250.00).
