Guys
I have fineally got my car painted and now I am working on the breaks.I have put a new master cylinder and break booster on and still weak rear and no front breaks. The car has the original front disc and rear drum.It also is still set up like it came from the factory. I have blead all four several times and have good fluid at each wheel. What do I need to do now?????
Thanks,David

are you aware of the deep hole and shallow hole master cyls? The deep hole MC was made for manual brake applications and the deep hole keeps the pushrod from falling out. Some boosters have a longer pushrod for use with the deep hole master, some have a short pushrod for the shallow hole master cyl. If you bought your master cyl and booster separately, they may be mis-matched.

If your pushrod length is OK, try bleeding at the master cyl. If you don't have bleeders there, just bleed by depressing the brake pedal and cracking loose the brake lines, one at a time where the connect to the master cyl. Sometimes there is air trapped there.

Have you pushed the bleeder valve on the metering block, you know the round part just under the MC in front of the booster.

You have to do that to be able to bleed the discs.

As Mr. Pozzi refered to: Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before you installed it?

Guys
I have bench blead, pushed buttons, blead at the mc,got mad at the wife, and even thought about breaking-up with the girlfriend. I am starting to think the rebuilt mc I got is not good.
Thanks,David

You could have a poorly installed or damaged seal in the master cylinder. That might keep it from building any real working pressure, but enough to bleed the calipers and cylinders. Is there any fluid present on the master at the booster or firewall?
