I'm having a problem with my 67, the rear body of the car seems to be sitting low in the drivers side rear, it is causing the tires to rub agianst the wheel tub on the drivers side rear and on the passengers side rear there is a 2" gap. Anyways while taking a look at the underbody after replacing the rear shocks I noticed that the rear shackles are twisted slightly. Does anyone know who sells just the shackles?

The tires in the back are 255/50/16, if you guys have any other ideas that could explain why my car is squatting on the drivers side rear, please help me out.

Thanks Camaros.net you guys always bail me out graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Might be a broken leaf or two??

The '68 Firebird multi-leafs I put on years and years ago ended up breaking the two bottom ones on the pass. side.

I've noticed some bondo on the same passenger side rear like an inch or two thick I thought it was to reshape the quarterpanners but car may have been tagged in the rear. The spings are monoleafs and I see no cracks, I took off the bolt holding the leaf on the passenger side and the spring is still good but the shackles were bent to hell.I took a sledge hammer to the sides of the shackles and tried to reshape them, but it didn't do Sh**. The car looks like the entire rear was slid to one side.

RUN 269 can you send me some pics to james562@sbcglobal.net. I was thinking of buying some new shackles from JCwhitney, has anyone used the ones froms JCwhitney yet, any bad or good results. I may just end up fabricating my own if I can't find a suitable replacement.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions reguarding new shackles please post or contact me thanks!!!

sure james, i can take a couple of pics...as soon as i replace the dead batteries in my camera. Ricks has complete new sets for about $26 per side, includes bushings and bolts and nuts. that's how i went, fit perfect.
