Is lubrication of the leafs necessary or recomended and if so what should be used? Tks.

no lube needed, however if you have squeaky polyurethane bushings, some guys grease them, to get rid of the squeak..

I don't know how wise it was but I but a grease fitting on both ends of the springs. Works great so far.
