Steve R May 2nd, 00, 04:42 PM Have you checked other year Camaro's or just for a 73? If the guy at the parts counter is lazy he might not take the time to look. See if they will let you look through the catalog. If there are none of those available check Firebirds and 75-80 Nova's, Old Omega, Pontiac Ventura etc. they use the same subframe. Good luck.

Jesses May 4th, 00, 08:34 AM hey james,
are you looking for new springs? or used ones? i was in ABE's junk yard up in pearl city industrial park last weekend (probably about 2 miles from where you are) and saw two 70-73 camaros just sitting in there with the front ends still in tack. only missing the motors.
if you need the number, it is (808) 455-4200
give them a call and find out what they want for them both if they take it off or you take them off. hope this helps, JS http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

kz1000ltd May 4th, 00, 08:45 AM Do yourself a favor and get new ones, they aren't that expensive, and considering the time and effort they take to install, it's money well spent, especially if you are going to keep the car for awhile. Generally speaking, you can get a good set of new springs for less than 100 bucks. I just put new Moog big block springs on my 69', and they were only 79 bucks from Firewheelclassics. I highly recommend them.

MarkM May 4th, 00, 11:06 AM I got moog big block springs from the local parts store for $50. They also carried TRW for the same price.

Jesses May 5th, 00, 06:40 AM hey james,
if you are looking for new ones, i think that Checker has them for almost the same price as what mark suggested. the closest one to you would be the SaltLake location by the stadium.
good luck, JS

RK Reimann May 6th, 00, 06:33 PM MarkM: Do you by any chance know the moog or TRW part number on the coils for the 69 big block with air? I repeat,,, with air.
davidpozzi May 7th, 00, 11:08 AM TRW and Moog are owned by the same company now.

MarkM May 12th, 00, 01:57 PM When I bought my springs, the book they ordered them out of didn't have the option of air with a big block, but they did have the air option with a small block. I don't know the part number I bought because I threw the box away, I also cut about 2 coils out of mine making them stiffer, but I don't know the exact rate.
