I just read where National Parts Depot sells a Dash Cap. To quote "This thermoformed polymer product is contoured and textured to look exactly like you original dash - it fits right over your damaged or cracked pad". Anyone have any experience with one of these?
I also see they sell a dash mat. A carpet that fits over your dash. That might clash with my fuzzy dice!

Wasn't aware they offered "the cap". I've seen them for pickups though. Personally, I'd just get a new dash pad. How much are these caps anyway?

They are $70 and they only come in black but can be dyed? I agree that replacing sounds better especially since I'll do this when I replace the dash metal. However, it seems from a lot of the posts I've read that the repros are pretty lousy. It sounds like recovering the orginal is the best way to go. I thought this might be an alternative to sending the original out.

I bought one a long time ago... If I hadn’t paid so much for it I would have thrown it away as soon as I took it out of the box. I took it to several swap meets to try to sell it and get some of my money back but anyone that looked at it would not even offer a dime for it. What the ad should say is: “This thermoformed polymer product is contoured and textured to look exactly like your original dash if you have severe Glaucoma or are at least 50 feet away”.
