Last Summer I purchased and installed the Wilwood Rear Disc Brake Kit for my 69 Camaro with a GM 12 Bolt RearEnd. Everything went together perfect and the appearance was outstanding. However, this past weekend I crawled under the car to look over the situation as my net step is the installation of my complete Aeromotive Fuel System. To my surprise the Polished Calipers and Rotors still looked like the day they were installed. However, all of the nuts, bolts, washers, and other misc. hardware was rusted badly. The Car has set in a Dry Garage all fall and winter and stayed completly dry. I never paid close attention (my fault I guess) to the quality of the installation hardware but for the price and the quality of the other parts it totally surprised me to the shape I discovered these other pieces in. Does anyone know where I can obtain some better quality hardware to replace these rusted ones with or should I just remove the kit and paint the rusted parts after cleaning and preping them. For the price you pay for the kit you would expect better nuts, bolts, washers, and etc. or at least some instruction on how to advoid the situation I now find myself in. To be honest the Brake SetUp with the new Leaf Springs, CalTrac Traction Bars, and the HAL QA1 Adjustable Shocks really looks bad. Has anyone else had this problem or is it something I did or didnot do? Thanks for the help.
