I'm reasembling my front end graemlins/thumbsup.gif but I need to replace the boots for the pitman arm and idler arm. Actually the idler arm is a dense foam washer. The HELP section at the local parts store isn't close for eather part.

I've checked NPD, Summit, Jegs, Classic, and Steele Belt and Rubber catalogs with no help. Does anyone have and idea where I can find these things so I can declare the steering complete? I sure hope I don't have to buy a $125 pitman or idler to get the boot.

I believe Rick's has them. Take a look in their catalog if you've got it. If you don't, give them a call. They are in Athens GA.

Is a drag link the same thing as a center link? This doesn't look exactly like mine, but may work. What do you think? Now if I can find that foam washer for the idler arm seal.

Yes, the center link and drag link are just two names for the big bar that holds together the steering linkeage on both sides of the car (i.e. idler, pitman, and tie rods).

I got one from Ricks and it did look a little different than the stock piece... it doesn't go as far over down over the idler. It seems to work fine though.

it doesn't go as far over down over the idler Sorry bood. Now I'm confused. I was only able to find the pitman arm to cross-shaft boot, but not the idler. Did you find an idler to cross-shaft seel there as well?

Oh, sorry... I mistyped. I did mean on the pitman, not the idler. I bought a new idler at the same time (from Vette Brakes) which came with all of that hardware.

check at auto zone/ advamce auto parts for your idler arm.
