They say a picture is worth a thousand words....I need front and rear perspective photos of the correct setup on the axle (perches and shock mounting plates) for a 68 with multi-leaf springs.

The setup I have from the previous owner is a concoction of mono-leaf perches (with 3 leaf springs) and cut-off traction bars used for part of the lower mounting bracket. graemlins/clonk.gif It's really screwy...I'll take some pictures and post them.

Your pictures would really help a newbie out!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks,

Paul

Welcome to Team Camaro.
I have some rear spring perch, shock plate, and rear shock info on my page. Also info on the Hotchkis three leaf rear spring. It's for a 67, which does not have the staggered rear shocks, that's the only difference.

Thanks, Dave.

The reason I ask is that I bought some shock mounting plates from Ground Up and they don't extend as far down as the current plates do. I do have the double shear setup currently, but I can't imagine that these new plates will work with the exsting 'good' (not homemade) bracket. Is it a concern to only have one bracket and for it not to extend the full three inches? I'd say it only extends about 2 inches....

Thanks
