I'm adding the cadillac style rear disc brakes to my car. I'm buying all new lines and am a bit confused about the rear line. The brake kit came with rubber lines for the rear calipers. The original drum lines had no hoses as the hard lines ran straight into the drum. What do I need to hook these up? Do I need the JL8 rear axle lines? Do I need to cut and flare the axle line back 6 inches to allow for the rubber hose? There is no bracket on the axle tube to hold the rubber hose where it transitions to the hard line like you have in the front brakes. How do you secure it to the axle tube? Any help is most appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone? How did you hook up your rear disc calipers?

I hardlined mine in. I came off the junction block at the diff and ran a hard line to a point over the rear leaf then I ran the line with the leaf about 5 inches, made a "U" turn, came back toward the axle and then went to the caliper. This "U" is needed due to the fact that the calipers move a little when the brakes are applied. That is the way they were run on the Cadi I took them off of.

I used the rubber lines and brackets from the FRONT of the Seville. I cut and welded the brackets to the housing. I then bought two pre-made lines at the auto parts store and connected them to the original junction block/bracket that bolts to the housing. I could not use the original Cad lines as they were too wide for my housing. HTH,
