do the 3 leaf springs fit on the mono leaf spring perch or do i have to modify them?I checked the j.c. whitney site and they list some for a nova,i guess that will work on a 1968 camaro? Also does anyone know if the hotchis springs are a 3 leaf? I seached on this site and others and cannot find a definitive answer...thanks anyone...... graemlins/hurray.gif

Hotchkis are a 3-leaf. Most 3-leaf types fit OK when the rubber isolators are removed in mono spring mounts, but you'll still need a small spacer between the spring mount and the mounting plate...about 1/4" or so. Not a big deal.

I have the JCW three leaf springs on my car now. I just had to trim the poly spring pads side lips off using a sharp box knife VERY CAREFULLY b/c you can cut h-ll outta yourself IF NOT CAREFUL!!
That poly is tough stuff, imho....
The trimming has to be done b/c mono's are double tapered AND I don't think there is anybody repopping them, period!
I am going to add the second and third leave's from my worn out '68 Firebird stock multi's to make them stiffer to better match my about 500 pound front coils..

PS., as a side note the JCW springs unassembled main leaf matched the shape/curve/bend of the stock multi main leaf to a "T"!! I checked!!!

PDQ, hows the ride feel? what is the height from wheel C/L to the lip?
I been looking at them and last time I called was to ask if a "matched" set. They didn't know squat!

I have my car up on jackstands on the front so can't measure her but when I moved her, she looked fine to me!
Kinda hunkered down in the rear ever so slightly, but I'm so used ta seeing my car raised back there b/c of my old coil-overs and L/60-14's that I really can't say how it sits right now??? BUT do like the Bullitt's with the 255/45-17's!!!
But I will say the 17's sure appear small up against my old L's!!!
Sorry.

thanks for answering my question this is my first time posting on this site.I have used the info posted on tech many times in the past.great site goodguys! thanks...i'am going to try the hotchis leafs they told me too that they are a direct replacement for mono's and that they supply all the hardware.and i believe that they can be order'd 2" inches lower than stock.i'am looking at using there 2 inch drop front springs too anyone out there have this set-up? How does it ride/sit? Also curious if the jcw with a 1 inch lowering block along with the hotchis up front would be a viable alternative? any extra input would be appreciated......p.s if i use the 3 pack anything do i need to relocate the shock mounting points...

I would not use a 1" lowering block with a multi spring in a mono perch. To much of the spring ends up being "outside" the perch. Chicane will say otherwise, but if it were my car I wouldn't.
I don't run the Hotchkis spring, I run the VB 3 leaf but my understanding is the Hotchkis spring has the locating pin on the upper side of the spring and the spring perch needs a hole drilled into it for the pin to sit in. The VB spring is just the opposite. The locatin pin is on the bottom side of the spring and fits through the hole in the shock plate. The top of the spring is smooth and fits flush with the spring perch.
For some decent pictures on how the 3 leaf sits in the mono perch take a look at my web site.
