Hi Guys,

I can't seem to find the clamps that hold the brake lines to the axle tube on my 69. I'm looking for new ones for the new rear end. I pulled one off the old rear end and they appear to be lead. I've seen different kinds of clamps with different vendors, but not the solid lead type. Does anyone know where to get them and what method is used to attatch them? Thanks for any help.

Mine are steel and were tack welded to the tube by the factory. I dont think they are made out of lead.

Hmmm... same here. On rears this old, I've never seen anything but welded on steel hooks.
They may SEEM like lead because after all this time, they are so rotted and soft that they bend like lead.

They were either already gone or fell off when I cleaned up this '73 Nova rear I'm getting ready to install this week. I thought about welding on new ones but.... where to get 'em? And I've already shot the primer. SO I'm leaving them off and just letting the clamp on the diff cover hold everything.

I suppose you could make your own out of thin sheetmetal and tack them on where the old one's were. Or tack-weld on Adel clamps of some sort.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll probably tack something similar on the tube.
