View Full Version : Hotchkis 3 leaf springs for a monoleaf car?
Dan Moore Sep 19th, 02, 11:53 AM The time has come to replace my old Monoleaf springs. I have seen several references to Hotchkis three leaf replacements for mono spring cars but have not been able to track down any specific information. Looking on http://store.summitracing.com I found "1 1/2 inch drop performance leaf springs" with part #HSS-2407. Are these what I am looking for? If not, where might I find them?

hey dan- you have mail.

Dan, (CJ),
If you have knowledge if a Hotchkis multileafs kit (#2407c) will fit a 67 camaro, please let me know cause I am in the same situation as you now. I also wanna replace my 67 monos with Hotchkis multileafs and don't exactly know if it will be a direct replacement or not.
So if you have any info if the multis will fit a monoleaf, please e-mail me...
Thanks,
David

Winch Sep 20th, 02, 02:36 AM I certainly hope that 2407C kit fits. I have one in a box waiting for a 75 Nova rear end getting a new posi unit and they're all going in my 68 to replace monoleafs. I've read quite a few posts and I'm sure they're going to work. Some issues will come up with whether you use your existing shock mount plates and if you use the rubber pads that come in the kit. David Pozzi has some good inof on his site.

i put these 3 leafs in my '67 monoleaf Camaro; I used a small hand saw to cut the pads, the rubber is very slippery,and Do not try to cut them with a razor knife,swiss army knife http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif ouch
uh i only used one pad on the top,and no pad on the bottom,
I also bought new front spring mounts{the one held by 3 little bolts at the front}
and this saved a lot of grief!
I used a sawzall to cut the shackle bolts!
