I'm going to do they Guldstrand Mod and read that there will be header clearance problems on the right side. Does anyone know if this will be the case with a big block and Hooker supercomps? I plan to cut off the brackets and remount them as David Pozzi shows on his site. Has anyone seen the need to rebend the bottom of the bracket for strength as the original installation was done? David mentions remounting them slightly to the rear and 1/2 in. to the rear, will either help with header clearance or seriously affect handling?

The clearance problems are from running added shims to get more caster.
How much room do you have now?
By moving the mount to the rear you shouldn't have to add nearly as many shims and the upper A frame won't be moved in as far.

The subframe is out of the car, going from a small block to a ZZ502 so I don't know how much room I would have had before.

The only small block cars that had problems were with the pass side rear upper A frame mount coming close to the header pipe.
I wouldn't buy headers that come too close to the upper A frame bushings.
