Hi, calling all brake experts! We just installed an 81 TA rear end in my buddies 69 convertible after welding on new spring perches and rebuilding it.

We rebuilt the rear TA calipers but are having a DEVIL of a time finding 2 parts for it. I have looked online and at the local napa & autozone stores and no one can look it up. The original parts from the dealers are not made anymore. does anyone know where I can find these parts (and the proper part names people can look them up by).

1) Dampening Spring

2) The Actuator Arm return spring (for the parking brake similar to the ones prominant in this picture)

(sorry couldn't get this to show as an image for some reason)

Pleaset let me know if you have an idea what these are called and where I can get them.

Thanks!

have you tried here? http://www.gmpartsdirect.com
Maybe a brake rebuilder will sell you the parts.

I tried gmpartsdirect.com but I think the factory parts have been disc. I have seen them on rebuilt units, but don't know where to look.

I just broke one of my springs just like the one in your picture. I had some small dia stainless steel antena that I got somewhere and made one out of it. It worked just fine. As for as the parking brake return spring, I bought some springs from the auto parts store that I believe were a heavy clutch return spring. I cut off the long straight end and bent it to connect in the caliper hole and fashioned the end to fit the PB lever. It all worked out just fine. I used heat to form the spring ends. A man's got to do what a man's got to do!
Good luck,
Guy
