I bought a 67 12 bolt rear at a swap meet for 100.00 it has 3.55's . after looking closer (at home) I noticed the housing is bent ,it will cost 150.00 to get it straightened .this will put it 250.00 is it worth getting fixed .or should I keep looking for a unit for my 10 bolt?

You don't say whether it is a posi rearend or not or whether it is complete from drum to drum but I will assume both those to be correct and say that complete used posi rearends around here are ususally 450.00-750.00 in good condition...if you can find one. 3:55's are good if you are building a cruizer but not so good if for strip use I would think.

I dont claim to know a whole lot about 'em, but aren't all 12 bolts posi??

I'd fix her up, bolt her on and spin em up! http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif

Its still worth it, no doubt. Not all 12 bolts are posi. Posi was still a option, its just over the years everyone has added posi to 12 bolts

That was a great deal. I paid $500 for a 67 Chevelle 12 bolt, and still had to put another $600 in to it to get it where I wanted it. You got a great deal. Jason
