Ok this is not a Camaro question. I just bought a 1969 Javelin that has what looks like the same power steering box as my 69 Camaro. It is about 3.5 turns lock to lock and so easy if you cough going down the road you change lanes. Does anybody know if the later F body or MCSS box will fit an AMC? I tried to look on several AMC boards but couldn't find what I was looking for. If you can find it in your heart to forgive me let me know what steering box might work. Thanks GL

Yes the third generation FBody steering gearbox model Cardone 276550 will fit in your Javelin! The Javelin used the same box as the 1969 Camaro, and since the third gen box outsides are physically the same, you could install the third gen box in the Javelin, it will give you a stiffer sportier feeling steering system.

Thanks I thought they looked the same. Good info here even if not for a Camaro. GL

the input shaft splines and ps line hookups are different on the newer boxes, so look out for that.

Yea you'll want to get a new rag joint for the newer box and either get the LEE manufacturing press in inserts or Napa Weatherhead adapters, do a search on Third Gen box in this forum.
