I am considering putting p235/60-r14 tires on my 67' camaro. I have 14x 6" rally rims on it. Does anyone know if this would be a good size, or might I run into trouble with the tires rubbing? Thanks

I have the 14X7 wheels (stock on SS) and run 245r6014 with plenty of room. 235's on a 6" wide rim would be perfect.

The 1999 Tire and Rim Association Guide states for a P235/60R14 tire, the following rim widths are recommended:

14 X 6.5 through 14 X 8.5

The following rims widths are permitted, but not recommended:

14 X 6 and 14 X 9

Both will physically fit, but here is why they are not recommended (keep this in mind if you ever have to get your tire warrantied):

The 14 X 6 will literally pinch the tires' beads closer together on the rim and give you less tread-less contact patch( with more of a tread arc).

The 14 X 9 will do the opposite, it will stretch the tire out and incoporate part of the upper sidewall as tread.
