what is the max offset that you can use without tire rub? I was looking to use
255/40R17 on rear with amer. racing torq-thrust2 17x8 and 17x7 in front with 225/45R17
the car has a 10 bolt posi with mono leaf
springs.small block with standard sorings in front.no power stering.

David,

make a template from a tire mounted on a wheel and use it to determine the correct backspacing. There have been lots of articles in CHP and Super Chevy on how to do this.

Hey David. On my 67 Camaro I have 17" wheels. I dont know if the fender clearances would be the same but I'll give you my info anyway. Front..17"x8" with 4.5"bs and 255/40/zr17's. Rear... 17"x9.5" with 5.5"bs and 275/40/zr17's. The car is lowered 2" in front and back and I have NO rubbing problems.
