Nice looking Camaro.... I have a set of M\T slicks that I bought from a friend like new... when I mount them, I have very little clearence between the slick and the outer edge of the body... looks like you don't have much clearance either... just wondering how much these tires (grow) during a burnout. I think my tires are 31/ 10.5

Pink68, what size rims are you running with the 275/60's in the rear and how much do they stick out of the wheel well? Do you have any rear shots with the 275's?

mburke - the slicks are bias ply and grow about and inch or so. there is actually almost a little more than two inches between the fender lip and the tire surface. The rims are Supertricks 15 by 10 with a 4.75 offset. The interior fit is very tight especially on the drivers side and requires some judicious "realignment" of the inner fender lip/body pan junction. I didnt want to fully tub the car and relocate the springs so chose this method. If I had a 4 inch offset inner piece for the supertrick then it would have been a perfect fit but thats the price we pay for modification, right?

gearhead - the 275 T/A radial street tires are on Autodrag (05) that are sized 15 by 8 1/2 with the 3 5/16 offset. They also DO NOT stick out of the fender well. There are two offsets available with the other being 4 1/2 or so. I would rather have the other offset but I got the entire wheel set (front and back) for free including the front tires. I am too cheap to buy new ones yet.

When you say that they do not stick out then they must be dead even with the lip. Just to make sure I understand you 100%, you can stand right up to your car and look down at the fender and not see any tire. Do you have your inner fender lip rolled?

gearhead67, the 67 i just bought had 275 60 15's on centerline convo pro's 15X8.5 with 3 and 5/16 backspacing. The sidewalls stick out of the body and rub like crazy. I sold the wheels and bought 15X8.5 convo's with 5" backspacing. The backspacing actually measures 4 3/4. I rolled the lip. The driver side is kinda close to the inside and rubs a little on a hard right hand corner. The passenger side never rubs. I think a 1/4 inch spacer on the driver side will cure the problem. Maybe poly bushings and a sway bar will help also.

gearhead, my car sits stock height. I have single leafs and regular shocks. I do have slapper bars and the snubbers do touch the springs and make the suspension stiffer and reduces body roll. Pinks tire pics look about the same as mine did, hard to tell because my car sits lower. Also be careful about the rims you buy, brand to brand is inconsistant with their width ratings. Centerline is right on, weld is 1/2 inch narrower than advertised. The backspace on my other camaro with autodrags is exact at 4 7/8 but the convo's rated at 5" measure at 4 3/4. The billet centerlines on my wife's car are exact. Just something to look out for. If you want it to sit fairly low, rolling the lip is a must. My suggestion is an 8" with 4.5 bs. This is also what Car Craft recommended for 1st gens in a recent article. But they said 255's. What brand of wheels are you looking to get?

Lonnie67, I currently have 15x8 ralley rims off of a corvette. I would like to get a set of Draglites but I need other things before them. My buddies want me to go with the Pro Touring look but 17" rims really hurt the wallet!!

what's the backspace on your front centereline wheels? 3 5/16? and what tire size you use with that bs? 4 7/8 on rear?

I have Centerlines on my 69. Fronts are 15x7 w/3.3125 backspacing, Tires are 235/60 (9.65" wide measured on rim). Also had 225/60 on before (9.5" wide measured on rim). Some rubbing between outer shoulder of tire and wheelwell during tight turns. Probably could be eliminated by slight reshaping of wheelwell for clearance.

On backs have 15x8.5 w/ 4.875 bckspacing. Tires are 255/60 but are fatter than most (actually measure at touch over 11" on rim. BFG 265/50 15s are rated to measure 10.9 on same width rim) Some rubbing on inside when one side of rear end moves up, like driving up a ramp on an angle. Some big hammer shots might cure that.

2 days ago I saw a 67 with 275's in the back, they were street slicks, and the guy who owned the car said that the fit just fine. Also, the car was lowered in the back, and I think the lip was really rolled in order to have the tire fit inside the wheel well. He said that he hadn't done any tubbing though.
