What size tires did you end up with? And what is the backspacing on the wheels? Do you have a picture?

If you're interested, click on the link below to see my '68 with 255-60-15 rear and 225 front on 15x8 and 15x7 4 1/2" backspace rims.

For everyday use a 255 rear tire is about as big as can be fitted. A 245 would be ideal. 225's fit great in the front.

I agree with the 255's on the rear, however, I think 235's are fine in the front, if your suspension is in good shape. That's what I have on mine, and there has been no hint of rubbing......KZ http://www.geocities.com/kz1000ltd/

I have 16" Weld racing wheels on my '68 SS/RS. I had to go to 215's in the front, with 245's in the back. I could have gone to 255 in the back, there is extra space. But the 225's I had in the front rubbed, and had to be replaced. Every car is deifferent, so if you can test fit, that's the way to go.

for a nice look use 245/55/15 on the rear and 235/60/15 on the front
