I just purchased a 67 base coupe. It has the original steel wheels with full hubcaps. I plan to keep/store them and put on a set of 15x7 Rallye wheels I have. I was thinking of the following combo:

front P215R60-15, rear P235R60-15

Comments? Suggestions? Anyone use this or have a picture of '67-'68 running this combo? Thanks!

It should look ok... but you probably could go a little narrower in the front and a little wider in the back if you are going for that "look" I had 235/60/15 in the rear of my 68 and they looked a little dinky to me. jmo

I just put 15x7 Ralleyes on my 69' Camaro, no hints of rubbing, I put 235/60/15's on front, and 255/60/15's on the rear. You should be ok in the front, as long as your suspension is up to par. I just put new big block springs on my, so I had plenty of room. You can see pics at: http://www.geocities.com/kz1000ltd/

you may check the archives. i think i remember seeing the '67 fenderwells are smaller than a 69's and the 235's may not work up front. i think the 215's up front and 235's in back you are thinking of would fit fine.

would i get rubbing if i were to use 14 x 7 wheels with 245's on the front and 265's in the back in a 68 convertible?

To Ken, I might try a 15x6 in front with a 215/65/15 rather than a 215/60. This way you will have tires the same height front and rear. You can also use a 243/60/15 on the rear.

To Boardin101, those tires will probably fit, it really depends on how high the car sits and the offset of the rims. Have you thought about using a 15 inch rim instead?

yeah i personally want 15 inch but my dad is doign most of the funding for my car cuz i'm only 17 and can't afford it...and he wants 14 inch...i'm not really sure why though...bu tif i were to get 15 x 7 what woudl be the biggest tire that i could fit..like a 235 or so??
