was wondering what size tire would fit this rim,I know I want to put 60's all around???

Pappy: I just put a set of BF Goodrich TA's on my 69 Z-28.I went with 225/60-15 front and 245/60-15 rear on 15x7 Ralleys. For my car they are a perfect fit.My car has all original suspension so it doesn't sit as high as some with new springs.I have seen some cars on this sight with 235/60-15 front and 255/60-15 rear.They look good also but thier cars had new springs front and rear and seemed to sit a little higher than stock? I may have been able to use a 235 and 255 combo but I thought the 235 might have rubbed in the front. The 255's would have fit easy in the rear but I didn't want the rears to be that much bigger than the fronts.Depending on the look you want this info should help your decision. Cary

my car has what came on it when i bought it, which is the 15" rally wheels with flat caps. i'm not sure if these are 7" or 8" wheels (pretty sure 7") or what the back space is. on them are b.f. goodrich radial t/a's 235/60r15
front and back. 26.1" o.d., 7.6" tread width. i have just a little scrubbing on the passenger front if i
go lock to lock with a passenger. with just me in the car, no scrubbing at
all. i don't have new springs.
seen a few cars with 245's on the front, but a lot of people say 235 is the biggest you can go with.

215/60r-15 = $62.95
225/60r-15 = $66.95
235/60r-15 = $67.95
245/60r-15 = $70.95
255/60r-15 = $72.95
not sure what they charge for shipping. you may check your local wal-mart or sam's, they may have fair prices.

Those prices are just about right, you can't beat the T/A radials as far as I'm concerned, I had one set on 3 different vehicles, and I'm sure I got close to 100K on them.....of course the rears were a little thin, but you know how that goes!
I just put a new set on my 69', they are also mounted on 15x7 Ralleyes, and I used 255/60/15 rear, 235/60/15 front. My front springs are new also, so you if you have any doubt, go with the 225's, but I think the 255's would be fine in the back. You can see pics of mine at: http://www.geocities.com/kz1000ltd/

I've been thinking about putting 215-65/15s on the front of my 69Z and 225-70/15s on the rear. Since I'm trying to keep it stock looking, will this combo do the trick?

My car had 225/70-15's front and rear.The rears looked good but the fronts rubbed pretty bad.I think the 215/65 and 225/70 would look good and keep the stock look.My car is all stock but I liked the look of the slightly larger tire in the rear.
I went to Tires Plus for my tires.The 225's were $62.50 and the 245's were $68.50 and no shipping charges.Mounted and balanced tax ect was less than $295.00.
The Tire Rack was the cheapest price but they hose you for freight for $10.00 per tire.Plus when you go somewhere to have them mounted and you don't buy the tires from them they screw you. Sears also had the tires on sale..In fact they were cheaper but Tires Plus matched thier price. Hope this was of some help.

I got to reading this and got to wondering.
When I bought mine...(just last week) The tires are close enough to brand new. They fill the wheel wells great with no scrubbing. But they are so much different from everyone elses. Front are 205/60/15 and on the back are 275/60/15 These of course are the BF Goodwrench Radial T/A's...just thought I'd give my 2 cents.

Fireman1, yours are just a little wider in back, and narrower in front. I've always heard it's best to keep the width of the tires as close as possible, alot of tire shops will tell you they should all 4 be the exact same dimensions, for alignment purposes I guess? I had your set up on an older El Camino, and never had a problem with it. I think the wide back, narrow front look is pretty cool! KZ

On my 67 I am running 15x7's on all four corners, the rears are from a 68 vett. They have an offset that allows the use of an 8" trim ring, so the wheel looks like a 15x8. The rears are 235/60/15's and the fronts are 205/60/15's. I plan on using a 2" lowering spindle in the front and lowering the rear about 1 inch using the Vett and Camaro products fiberglass mono leaf springs. The look it has right now is really cool and it drives great. It will look better when lowered. You might want to try Walmart for BFG's I bought mine there with road hazard and lifetime balance and rotation for $350.00 out the door and down the road. The guy even painted my thrashed rallys for me !!!!
