I need to replace my worn tires on my 69. The tires on it right now are BFG T/A 265/50/15 and 225/60/15. Does any know of a tire manufacturer out there with these sizes in a 130mph rated tire? I have been searching all the tire manufacturer web pages with no luck. The car will be driven on the street often but want something that is road track ready.
Thanks
Joseph

i beleive your looking for a s or t? rated tire, but this is rated at continuous speed. no need to worry for short burst down the 1/4.I'am looking at the BFG drag radials, but no news on how good? they are.

I recently but 275-60-15 bfg drag radials on my 68... so far, I love em... very nice looking tire, it handles as well or better than the tires I had before, and no more wheelspin every time I leave a stop sign. Beware, this is an extremely low milage tire. How many miles have you guys sucessfully gotten out of them?

BFG does make a T/A R1 autocross tire that is Z rated. 225, 235, 255-60-15 and 265-50-15. The tread is shaved to 3/16" so they are not for high-mileage applications. I could find them nowhere on the internet. I discovered them on a Ferrari Daytona and contacted BFG. To get them you must joing Team T/A (free) and they will send you a size and price list. The sizes listed above range from $125-$135 each.

For the BFGs try www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) .They sell the drags and the R1s even have heat cylce deal for road racers(my boss runs SCCA ITB). I have the 325/50 BFG drags on my chevelle and on it they definitely hook. I have bought 3 sets of tire from the tirerack folks with no problems. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. The drag radials are out for me because my car is setup for the turns. Carl, I think the R1 tire does not have the longevity I am looking for but I bet the performance is great. I will be driving my car at least a few times a week (when ever I get it back together!) and want the tires to last at least 20,000 mi. However, the R1 is still a possibility though due to the fact that I cannot find anything else. I left an e-mail at tirerack.com regarding my situation and awaiting their reply.
