On my '68 I was thinking about putting 16" or 17" rims on it. I love the modern look of larger rims with a 50 or 40 series tire. I want the same width all around and wonder if anyone has a good combo with no modifications needed. I'm not sure if a 16 or 17 inch rim would be a better choice for the look I want. any ideas?

Keep in mind the height of the tire as well. Personally, I think 40 series tires @ about 26" tall or less look kinda goofy with the car at the stock height. I like them with the car lowered so the fenders sit near the top of the tire. Whether you go with 16" or 17" is probably just a matter of personal preference. I have 17" American Torque Thrust II's on my car.
