Ok guys I am getting real serious about getting some serious meats. I have been measuring and getting exact tire sizes including sidewall width & thread width. I basically have 12" wheelwell to play with but the problem is this- I dont want to run a 275/60-15 because they are 28" tall. The with would work fine but I want to run the same height all the way around and that will rub on the front.

So next I am looking at 295/50-15 which is even wider http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif but here is my question.
If this eagle gt II tire has 12.1" sidewall width (11 tread) on a 9.5" rim, what size would it be on a 8" rim?
or how about cooper 11.77 sidewall (10.1 tread) on a 9.5" rim what would it be on a 8?

What I am trying to shoot for here it to try and get 11.5 sidewall on a 8 so I have 1/4" give on both sides

and Im going to use 245/60-15 on the front

Murfy's Law,

Fred Puhn's book "how To Make Your Car Handle" says that for every 1/2" change in wheel width, the tire section changes.2". Hope this helps. pdq67

Remember - Measure three times and buy once!!!

BF does make a 275/50/15 that fits great. Lower profile and a little wider on the tread width. With a 4 1/2" BS

I've got 235-60-15's on the front with 7" wide wheels. The rears are 295-50-15's with a 10" wide wheel. The tires are goodrich TA's and the height is the same. I'll E-Mail you a pic with the 9" rearend in it vs. the 10-bolt posi in my sorry exscuse for a web page pictures. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
I think the front tires your thinking about will rub. Mine are marginal.
