Anyone have recommendations for a sticky street tire? I can't get any traction in first gear and would like to purchase tires that allow me to still drive the car, but also get better than average traction.

If you have 15" wheel you can go with a drag radial from BFG or other manufactures but the life of the tire is not long. BFG has a autocross tire called the R1 but it is only offered to "racers". I understand that all that is needed to acquire this tire is to be on BFG's racers list which is not hard to do, just sign up basically. Again, this tire will not last long but will handle great. Other than those options above there really is not much else except for your standard BFG Radial T/A and alike, all rated under 112mph.

Get yourself some Mickey Thompson D.O.T. sticky street tires-they work,I've used them.

the hot ticket right now ...mt et streets,but be warned, very little traction on wet roads,& short street life.

I cannot say enough good about the Hoosier Quick Time Pro's. On the street, I they work great. On the track, they work awesome. I normally run a ET Drag slick and pull a 1.60 60ft time. The Hoosiers pulled a 1.55 60ft! They are soft though, but lasted longer than my BF Drag Radials. Probably cause they do not spin.
For a street car, the BF's would be fine and the Nittos are looking real good also.

If you have lots of money and horsepower, M/T E/T Street would be the choice. If lacking cash and less than 400 hp, try McCreary. They've been used by circle track racers for years and work great on the street. Street racers use them a lot. Probably found locally or on the web.
