I am in the process of restoring my 68 convertible and want to know what tire and stock rim size I can put on without the tires rubbing. I have air shocks on the back to level the ride but do not want it jacked up. I also do not want the tires sticking out of the wheel wells. What is the correct off set for the rims some say 4" and then I have been told 4 1/4". Thanks

In the front of my 67 I'm running 15"x7" with 225/60/15 & on the rear I'm running 15"x7" with 245/60/15 with no Promblems theses wheels are stock GM Monte Carlo wheels I think. They are tucked inside the Wheel Wells & look good.

In addition to what Johnny says, go with a 4.5" offset to make sure they will tuck in under the fender wells. I'm running 235/60/15s up front with a minor rub on big bumps. (outer lip) But I think I can correct it with some suspension upgrades. I have 245/60/15's on back on 15X8" wheels with a 4" backspace. No rubs there.
