Does anyone know what an acceptable tolerance for the runout on a 15x8 steel rally wheel is? I'm replacing one of the rears on my '69 because the tire shop couldn't get it balanced due to excessive runout. I just received my new replacement, bolted it up to the car (on 4 jackstands), and ran it in 1st gear. It seems to have almost as much as the old wheel - I set a jack stand next to the wheel O.D. with a steel rule mounted to the stand in order to get an idea of the runout. I'm seeing about 3/32"-1/8" on this new wheel, I don't want to mount the tire if I'm going to have the same problem. Any ideas?
