Is anyone using or considering Edelbrocks new vintage line of wheels? They've got 16x8 w/4.5" of backspacing which work well with the 1st gen. http://www.edelbrockwheels.com/wheelcatalogdetail.asp?wheel=454

I was looking at several wheels for my car and the Edelbrock 409 was among them. I haven't seen them in person and Baer Racing wasn't sure if they would fit the bigger brakes on my car? I presently have 11.8" rear disc brakes and I'm planning on Baer's 12.1" front disc brakes.

I looked at many 16" wheels and felt the Edelbrock wheel was a good value compared to to many others. Wheels design is so subjective and everyone likes something different.

I like the Vintage Wheel Works " Vintage 45" design - it is the same size and offset. Rusty was great about answering all my questions and it looks like a great product.

69,

I took the plunge a month ago on the Vintage 45's. Rusty's an OK guy. chacane67 is corect that a 245/50 will fit up front but it is very tight.

The wheels are outstanding in quality and appearance. For the price they are, IMO, a great value. You can see them on my website.

Carl,

I sent you an e-mail about your wheels - they look great! Is your e-mail address still correct?

Basically - how do the wheels compare to the old American Torq-Trust "D" wheel? I've seen many old "curved spoke" Americans and wondered if the Vintage Wheel has the same shaped spokes??

Also did you buy them direct from Vintage?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

The wheels have the correct type vintage look to them. For me the larger Torque Thrust II's have a spoke that is a bit too sexy.

I bought them directly from Vintage Wheelworks. If you Rusty I referred you they will forward a $100 finders fee that I'll split with you. That way I can take a road trip up to Santa Barbara and you can see and feel the suspension setup. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
