I currently have the 68 and later rally wheel center cap on my 67 Camaro. I would like to have a set of the orginal 67 flat center caps.

I was wondering, other than the 67 Chevelle, is there any other model car's flat cap be the same? Or otherwise will work?

My plan is to find a set of used ones in good condition and have them re-chromed. Then buy the "Disc Brake" cap that screws on. Then wallllaaaa! Nice set of wheels.

One last question:

Will the caps off of a 14" rally wheel interchange with a 15" rally wheel?

Personal comment segment:
I know I can buy repos, but the overseas, overpriced, under-quality crap is definately
a last resort.

zzre,
First, these wheels and caps (14") were only put on disk brake cars unless it was a Z-28 (15"). Second, the caps are stainless and just need polishing not re-chromed. If you look hard enough you might find some used ones, but dents are the biggest problems.

I should have said chromed instead of re-chromed. I will need to have my bumpers redone and I would like to find some cheap caps I could chrome as well. I thought about doing the mirrors as well. Chrome is different, and I would like for the mirrors, bumbers and hubcaps to match.

I currently have 15" rims. Wheter they are 15"X7" or 15"X8" I don't know yet, but they are one of the two. I have haven't done anything with them yet. A 255/60/15 tire is mounted on the rear. Anyhow, all of the flat caps that I am aware of are for the 14" rim, and seem to be very rare around where I live. I thought maybe GM might have done something crazy and put them on some other model. Sorry, I was born in the seventies, so I am at a slight disadvantage on what came with what in the 60's.

zzre,
Chevy did make the caps for 15" wheels. I am not sure if they are the same as the 14" or not. They were used on the 67 Z28 and full size cars. I am not sure where you can find originals though. It might be cheaper just to buy the remakes.
