I've got a lowered (1.5-2") 68' camaro.
15x7's both fnt and rr. I think I can get
away with 225/60/15 on all 4's. But my ?
is, has anyone tried 50 series on the front
and rear? I want the same size on both
front anf rear to even out the appearance.
Besides I ain't got a money tree out back
so I'm stuck with my stock rally's. Would
50 series be to much width?
Thanx in advance
O
PS:
yes, I've searched for this and found little
on 50 series in front.

a 50 series tire on a 15" rim will look too small. besides, where are you going to find a 225/50-15? Not even the ubiquitous BFG Radial T/A comes in that size.

Closest is P205/55-15, but is only available with blackwall.

I think P225/60-15 should work all the way around. What size do you have now?

Ken67SSRS,
you don't want to know. Just pick the ugliest
combo you've seen and that what it looks like
anyway, I was just trying to keep the same size tire all around and I not an expert
on fit. i thought the P225/60-15 should work
fine all around but it may leave me with
to much wheel well space in the back. Thanx
for your reply, I just fear it'll still look
like a feed wagon. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif maybe 275 in rear
and 225 in front. Damn I wanted to be able
to rotate em'
Thanx dude,
O
any pics of your car?
send em. RS is my favorite

235/60x15 will fit on 15x7 rallyes with no problems. The 225 probably won't fill the wheel wells enough. They are pretty short too, making your engine spin higher.

My 69 is lowered 2" and the 235's fit fine. I just changed to 255's in the rear to fill the well better and give me a bit taller gear. I thought about 275's but a 7" rim is on the small side for that. I didn't think it would match the look of the fronts very well.

JoeG,

How did you lower your camaro? If you used spindles, I don't see how you fit 235's on there.

225/50 15s will probably look kind of small. You can get that size if you want it though. Tirerack.com has 13 tires made in that size, including the Yokohama AVS Intermediate for $75. Those tires are supposed to be incredible.

I have 265/50/15 BFG's all the way around. I have some tire rub but I have had them on there for two years without any problems.

I just bought some BFG's for 79.00 for the
rear. They fill up the wheel well very well.
I'll soon have to get the 225's for the front
it looks great. Thanx to everyone!
Did you guys know BF goodrich sold their
tire line to Micheline. I saw it on their
website.

The former owner of my 69`Camaro installed 225/50/15 in front because only this combo was legal for the switzerland. He used the wrong backspacing for a larger tire. And like someone told you the tire is too small in diameter so it doesn`t look very nice.
Try a larger diameter.
