I have an 1989 Camaro RS and I was wondering
if the front wheels and rear wheels have different backspacing?
I have the stock 15x7 wheels that came with the car. I wanted to get some IROC 16" wheels but I've heard that front and rear have different backspacing is that true?

All I know is that the rim offset on the ? 93 and newer camaro and pontiac wheels will not allow you to put them on older model F or A bodies.

I don't know about the IROC, but I have a 91 firebird formula 350 and the 16's on it are different backspacing front to rear, I found this out when I rotated the tires and found the wheels that i had just put to the frontjust barely touches the outer tie rod ends. I would bet they are the same as the iroc wheels

the rears have about an inch or so more backspacing(never measured, but that is what it looked like when i tried to swap them front to rear on my 71 nova).the rears hit my tie rod ends when i put them on the front, and the fronts hit the outer wheel well when i put them on the back.why do late models have this goofy setup? i would think it would be cheaper to have the fronts and rears all the same part #, but i aint an accountant or an engineer.
