Now I spent more time for my plan to install Corvette wheels (8,5" front and 9,5"rear)on my 69`Camaro.
I read many articles about 17" wheels on first Gen Camaros on this tech line.
The results are :
front approx 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing
rear 17x9 with 5.5" bs.
but the Vette wheels are
front 8.5 " with approx 7" bs
rear 9.5" with approx 7.5" bs
The widest spacers I want to install (because of safety and unsprung wheight) are 2". So in the rear this is o.k., but in front this is too small for the recommended backspacing.
So could anybody tell me if 5" bs at front will run ?
Or any other idea?

My 69 has 4.75" b.s. on the front with 17X8" and 245/45-17 F1's. These clear with no rubbing even on full turns so 1/4" more b.s. should work.
