What if any is the difference between corvette rallys and camaro rallys other than the size of the wheel. I know some camaros had 15 inch rims and no one sells a 15 inch camaro rim only a 14!! Are these 15 inch camaro rims really corvette rims im talking around 69-70

The Z/28 came with 15x7 Rally wheels and I believe the Corvette was 15x8. This was the obvious difference. Many parts suppliers sell repro Rally wheels in 15 inch. Try Rick's First Gen or Wheel Vintiques.

Summit has THE best pricing for ralley set ups. I want to know how fat a tire can you can you get in the rear of a 68 RS? Would a 14 x 8 w/4" or 4.5" spacing fit? Whats the fattest tire I could put on? Oh ya..Summit sells them for about $60 a piece.

the trim ring on the vette wheels is deeper, to fit the wider rim. otherwise, i think they are the same as the camaro wheels. maybe the offset is different, also.

If people would learn to spell it would help. The correct URL for Jim Dyer Chevy Classics is http://www.jimdyerchevyclassics.com/

Corvettes ran 15x8 and had a code AZ if I remember right. Camaros, chevelles and monty's used the 15x7 and smaller rims. If you want ralleys for your camaro dont run 15x8 in the front. Nine times out of ten they rub. I know this because I made the mistake and now have two 15x8 spare rims.

Like I said in previous reply 1968 Corvette used 15x7 then went to 15x8 in 1969. If you want the codes I post them.

I have 15x7 in front, 15x8 in back of my 69.
This is what i have learned:
-15x8 did not fit (my car is a conv. with a/c and a 350, so its heavier in front)
-a factory 15x8 for a corvette has a 4" backspace
-15x8 for camaro needs a 4-1/2" backspace or it will stick out past the fender well, so corvette ralleys dont work.
- NPD sells a 15x8 with a 4-1/2" backspace for around $70 i believe, powdercoated.
- Trim rings for Corvette are different. The lip is rounded and will not match camaros. Also, 15x8 is deeper and will not fit 15x7 rims.
- 15x7 trim rings will fit on 15x8's and dont look half bad.

Jegs sells a 15*8 Rallye with a 4 1/2 offset. Will this be a problem on the rear? I will be going 15*7 on the front. What size tire can I run without rubbing? I had 235*60*15 on front and the looked awefully close with a 350 non air. I am now going 454 non air.

mr69-quick question about your wheel and tire combo -- very nice!

you said above that the rear wheels are 15x8 repro with 4 1/2" offset, and I see from your website that the tires are 245/60.

I was wondering if the fronts (7") were also repro, what offset, and most importantly, what size tire?

I will be running the same setup http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

When using a 15x8 with 4.5" bss you will need to use a 15x7 trim ring as the wheel center is now "out further" and a standard 8" ring should not fit.
