When i measure the overall width of my 7" wheel, i come up with about 8".

And if i should measure a 8" wheel then i guess i would come up with 9" overall width, is that true?

And that makes me wonder this:
I have 7" wheels with 3,5 bss and then the outer part of the wheel would be 4,5". And these wheels don't fit my car after lowering it.
But i see that almost everyone uses 8" with 4,5" bs, then it would be 4,5" sticking out. So that would be the same as mine, except that 8" will have 4,5" bss instead of 3,5".

I have discbrakes, do you people with 8" 4,5" have that too?

Or do i have a wrong spindle? I cant figure it out.

Thanks

Mangus, you are correct in your mesurements, wheel measurements are taken from the bead seat. Now remember your disc brake spindal is a little longer, pushing the tire/wheel comb. out some. You may get away with a narrower or shorter tire.

I think i'll try to use 215 tires in front to see how it looks. And use 45 profile aswell. In that case i will get 96,75mm profile instead of 105,75mm as i have now on the 235/45 tires. Or use a 40 profile but that will make it only 86mm, and i guess thats to thin.

But im afraid that the front wheel still will look like its wider then the back.
I think i must have 5,5" bss on the 9" wheels in rear or it will hit the outer fender lip. Or bend up the fender lip in back and use a spacer.

Thanks

Hello !
I created a small Excel program for the calculation of :
backspacing, wheel height, location of tire due to the "bolt on level" (donßt know the right word).
You have to put in the wheel/tire sizes.
And you get the theoretic numbers.
I test my own wheel/tire combo with this before buying and everything went o.k.
Do you want this program ?
