Thinking of going the protouring look. 16x7 front and 17x8 in the rear. What spacing and tire size to get right the first time. Who's done it??

Randy,

There is more info here then you can shake a stick at if you just want to set this sections posts for about three years and go through them..

How do I know, well, I guess I looked them over! pdq67

PS., Ideally, a 7" wide w/ 4.5" b/s and a 225 tire is about right for the front. There are some that run a 5" b/s and a 245 tire, but it gets tight.

The back can go like a 9" w/ about a 5" b/s and a 255 tire. There are some that run a 5.5" b/s and a 275 tire but it is close.

I am going to run 17" x 8" with 5.47" b/s, 225's for front and 5.72" b/s and 255's for rear. I might have to add a 1/2" spacer in front but don't know yet. I was scared to try the 275's . BUT, I had old L-60/14's on 9" w/ 3.5" b/s on my rear by using shock coil over loads. They were like a 298/53-14 in actuality. Hope this helps.

And as always, guy's have mounted bigger!!!

Randy,

I'm running 17x8 with 4.75 B.S. all around on my 67. The front tires ar 245/45 and 255/45 in the rear. The fronts don't rub even at full steering lock but I also changed the brakes which slightly altered the front track width.

pdq and mike, is that with stock height or lowered? I asked the same question a few weeks ago and got no response. I'm dropped 2" and would really like to know your set up..
