I recently got some 17" tt2's for my 69 SS/RS. Im now looking toward the tires. In the back id like 255/60/17 but the outer diameter is 29.1 inches, will that fit? Also does anyone have any suggestions for either going for the low profile look in the back with maybe a 26 or 27" tire, or a meaty-er looking tire like the 29". In the front i plan on going with 225/45/17 which is 25"

Thanks,
Greg

Your sectional width should be ok but thats a tall tire. Just depends on how it sits and how much bounce you want

With a '69 and it's squared off wheel wells, I'd use the lower profile 40 or 45's for the front and 45 or 50's for the rear. In other words, no taller than 25.5" (25 preferred) in the front and 26.5" to 27" (26 preferred)in the rear. This is of course, if your car sits with a lowered stance than stock. In my opinion, these sizes usually look the best.

I'm running the TT2's on my '69. The wheels are 17x7 and 17x8 with 245/45/17 and 255/45/17 BFG Comp T/As. They fit fine and do not rub. My car is lowered 2"+ all around. The rears are about 26" tall and the fronts are 25.5". Check it out at the link below.
