I must ask you again about wheel sizes.
Im soon going to order 17"x8" with 5.44" bs for the front(discbrakes) and 17"x8" with 5.44" bs for the rear. Is this OK. My car is lowered, like yours after you cutted your springs.
Or should i go with 4.97" bs. in the front?
I know by own experience that 8" with 4.5" bs. will never go.
Thanks

Your rear will work fine. The front will be close though. Take a look at this picture, http://home.earthlink.net/~mutert23/_uimages/tierodclearance.jpg . I hope you can make out how close the wheel is to the tie rod, it's the yellow thing inside the wheel. I think it's about 1/8" - 1/4" from touching. That is an 8" wheel with 5.25" backspacing. Assuming your steering arms are the same size, your wheel will probably rub the tie rod. If I were you I'd still get the 5.44" bs, if the wheel does hit the tie rod I think you could grind a little off the tie rod without sacrificing stregth. My buddy had to grind some off his tie rod because he was using drop spindles and only 4.5" backsping, drop spindles really decrease clearance. Anyway his fit now with no rubbing and no problem. If you went to 18" wheels, the wheel might clear completly.

Hi
OK. But do you think a 5/16" spacer would be a good choice instead of grinding?
In that case my wheel would be at the same place as yours, even a little more clearance?
And thanks, i feel more sure about the whole thing now.
btw, anyone heard of a company called www.wheelsmarket.com (http://www.wheelsmarket.com) ?
Im going to order my wheels from them. And i live i Sweden so i really hope they deliver after my payments. =)

A spacer might work okay too. Just make sure you have plenty of stud.

I think i want to change those studs anyway. I guess they have been there since 68 =)
Thanks Mark
