Well im looking to put a Baer Brake 13" rotor system on my car. Now im looking at rims and i dont know JACK about em..
Backspacing? ok is this the space needed between the rim and the inner wheelwell tub? I am currently running 15" ralley wheels on my 67 SS/RS Camaro. Would 16" do fine if i wanted to put 13" rotors up front? Im assuming i would have to move up to a 17" rim? If anyone could help me out here it would be appreciated.. just not sure on this whole "backspacing" issue . Is there a sweet spot to pick for that will enable this kit to fit? I dont want to buy the rims and find out it wont work!
Thanks
Kyle

should fit with a 15" rim,
you can go as large as a
Front: 17x8" with 5.25" bs, 255/40 17
Rear: 17x9-9.5" with 5.5" bs, 275/40 17
No need for modifications done to car to fit tire/wheel.
Backspacing is the measurment from the back side of the center of the rim (where the lugs go through ) to the edge of the rim, so if your rim is 8" wide, and the back side of the center section of the rim to the front of the rim edge is 3.75" , then your backspacing is the width of the rim minus the meaurment of the center, giving you 4.25"
the whole backspacing thing is to fit larger rims under the car without them sticking out..
a classic example: look at the ricers, with the tires sticking out way past the wheel wells? they dont know what backspacing is... if they would have taken into consideration the difference in width , they would have been fine
you most likeley have a 4.25 or 4.5" backspacing on your 15"s , I have 15X7 and 15X8" rims and have 4.5" backspacing, it fits fine and theres still room for more, I could go with a 5.5" backspacing if I wanted Deeper or 9.5" rims without hitting my shocks or frontend components..
Hope this helps a bit.

Very good info above. The Baer brakes yyou're talking about will not clear a 15" wheel, and most 16" wheels. The 17's clear fine, had them on my 69.

Chacane67 had posted a while ago that he fit 13" rotors in a 16" wheel by using 3/16" spacer. I believe you can fit the JL8 brakes offered by SSBC inside a 15" wheel. They are 12" rotors and 4 poston calipers.
