Carl, Which Comp TA tire are you running? The G-force line only comes in 245/50R16, not 255. The Comp TA ZR is suppose to come in 255/50R16 but my dealers say that size is not available. I have agonized for a long time which wheel to use and you helped me decide on the Vintage 45. Now I am trying to pick a tire that looks right on a muscle car. I also like the Goodyear Eagle F1 but that tire might look out of place on my car. Same thing for the Eagle HP Ultra.

They are ZR's. I cannot find them available at any of the regular internet tire sites.
One has them listed as backordered. You might want to check with BFG for availability and/or if they still make them.
Dunlop makes a tire with a similar tread and sidewall pattern.

Just found out that Bf Goodrich has discontinued the 255 size. Bummer as I had decided on that tire. I do not know anything about Dunlop tires but will have a look.

I got great wear out of Dunlops. Be careful that their indicated size actually measures out (tread width, etc.) to what you want.

Another option is the BFG drag radial, if they still make that one!
They handle surprising well on the street. BFG stated to Torker that the sidewall construction is the same as the Comp T/A.

I'm going to buy the Vintage 45's next month after almost buying 17" wheels for my 69 Camaro.
You really might want to look at the Firestone Firehawk SZ50-EP tires. They are available in both the 245 & 255/50-16 for around $150 from Tire Rack. Also read the customer reviews and tests - they are very highly rated. I know you might think, Firestones, but they are NOT the SUV tires.
Now if you want someting cheaper - ***AD removed by admin***

PS - Carl I dying to read the lastest Camaro Performers with your car - is it out yet???

The firehawks are great tires. I had them on my corvette. I beleieve I got about 20,000 miles out of them. They handled great and the traction was definitely better than the
GS-C's that were on it. The GS-C's are really good when there new, But I think they wear very quick.
