I need a little help!
I am putting a disc rear end from a '80 Trans Am into my '69 Camaro. I will be swapping in '99 LS1 brakes also. This rear end is 1 1/2" wider than the original if my measuring is right. I have a pair of 275/40/17's I would like to run if possible. I know the tires will fit with the original width rear and correct backspacing. Has anyone run a second Gen disc rear in a first gen with this tire size? I am wondering about backspacing. I am planning on TT 2's 17X9.5 Thanks for your help!

Is it 1.5" wider on both sides, or ovarall? If the total rear is 1.5" wider, and a 17x9.5 with 5.5" bs works on a normal rear, then just add .75" to that. For a bs of 6.25" http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif .

Thanks for the help guys! The rear is 1.5" wider overall. I guess I'll have to go with custom backspacing as I don't think the TT 2's come with any more than 5.5" of backspacing.

Have you thought about another wheel? By the time you pay extra for the custom bs, you could spend a little more and get a billet wheel. Like Budnik, Billet Specialties, Boyds or Intro Custom wheels. Everyone's got TT2's. I just like to be a little different, http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif .

Mark,
I am thinking about going with something different, especially if the cost for the custom backspacing makes it more reasonable. Problem is our Canadian dollar. By the time I pay exchange and taxes it works out to be double your price... Hard to believe our dollar was worth more at one time not too long ago. I guess that's the price you pay to play!
