I have 17 x 8 TT II's on the rear of my 67, with the standard TT backspacing of 4 3/4. 255/50 tires. Looking under the car, I have a good inch between the tire and the inner well. But I still get a slight rub on the inner well. I cannot here are feel it, but I can see where the tire has rubbed. Has anybody else seen this problem. I am thinking it may occur when backing out of the driveway which is downhill and turning sharply, putting the rear end off camber.

Did you run 11.50's on the 17" wheels? Any pics of the car?

As for your problem, are you running poly bushings? That would limit rear end movement over rubber bushings. I'm running 5.5" of bs, and mine have never rubed. You could also add a small spacer to get the tire away from the inner fender some.

Yeah, I have some good pics of the car. If you can tell me how to post them here, I will. Or I can e-mail you a couple. Thanks for the tip in the poly bushings. I may try that. I would like to stay away from the spacers it possible. I like the way the car looks as is.

The only way I know to post them is to find and site that will host them first. I use to use fbody.org, but they don't offer that for free anymore. And the free web space my ISP offers, is almost full http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif . Email me a couple pics if you will, mutert23@earthlink.net.

I think the stiffer bushings should to the trick, your rear is moving around alot.

So did you run 11's on the 17"s, or did you run slicks?

I ran 11's on 26 X 8.5 slicks. I just got the 17's. I would be happy with mid 12's on the 17's.

Cool. I ran 12.7 on 17's. They were Nitto Drag radials. They hook pretty good.

I got rubbing with mine too (same exact sizes on a stock springs, etc. rear) Never heard it either. No tire damage though. I figured it as from the occasional time that I push it a little hard. I would'nt worry about it, just keep your eyes on the tires for any damage. You could try using a washer for a little extra spacing.
