This might be hard to answer, but I recently drove my car very fast is circles (kind of skid pad test) and noticed that the next upgrade (except fore the T56..) will be better tires.

I currently have "Good Year Eagle GSD" 255 40 17 and 275 40 17 together with 8.5" and 10" rims..

what are you guys running? (dim. brand)

how do you like them?

What did you have before?

Are these better?

How much air pressure?

Would you recommend them?

I don't care if they look cool or so.. I'm only interested in how they perform.

Where can I find more info (a test or something) with different tirebrands?

(I'm interested of hearing from you who have driven your cars.. not those with 2 year left )

thanks!!!

Don't know how they compare to your GSD's, but I've got Bridgestone RE730s on my 69 convertible. I have the first generation ones..they recently came out with a second generation.

Rear: 275/40 17 on 17x9.5 Torque Thrust IIs
Front: 245/45 17 on 17x8 Torque Thrust IIs

Haven't pushed them to their cornering limits yet (maybe after subframe connectors), but have driven several thousand miles on them and they feel like they have good grip. Ride is at least as comfortable as the Michelin Sport XGT Vs they replaced (255/60 15, 235/60 15). They also track nice on the highway.

Treadwear rating on these is 300, higher than most other tires in their class. Also, several user reviews at Tirerack had mentioned that they hooked better than the tires they had replaced. One guy mentioned he picked up half a second at the strip after installing them.

I will have a posi in a couple of months and will have a better idea of their straight line traction then, since I haven't wanted to launch from a stop and burn up the right rear (new) tire.
