Will 235/60/15 Goodyear Eagle GT 2 tires on a 15x8 Cragar SS wheel(4-1/4 backspacing) work on the front of my 68 Camaro without rubbing?

4 3/4" backspacing is a little better, even 5" will fit

Why would 4-3/4 or 5" fit better? Cragar SS only make 4-1/4 backspacing, unless they can make special backspacing orders

My 16x8 Cragars by Unique (www.cragarwheels.com) have 4.75 BS and I didn't special-ordered them. I don't know what other BS could be available.

a lot of brands will do special backspacing as a special order that seems to take 4 - 6 weeks to get. if you want to squeeze the widest combination inside the wheelwell it seems to take 4.75" b.s. for an eight inch wheel on the front of most first gens to have no rubbing and allow for the largest tire. if crager was only making wheels for the camaros, that's probably the only size they would have. or you could go with a 7" wheel if the cost is a huge difference and fit the same tire on it. call around to all the tire stores or find out what b.s. is avail for different brands of wheels.

p.s. boyd coddingtons will make any backspacing and they're the same price.

I am not trying to squeeze tires in the front, I am trying to bring my tires out further. will 235/60/15 on 15x8 Crager SS rub?

I guess I can't say for sure as I don't have that wheel or that backspacing on my car but I THINK it may rub a little if you lower the car or maybe just when you hit bumps. just trying to help

FWIW, a rim that is dished about 2.25" to 2.5" from the front won't rub your wheel well chrome b/c that is what stock wheels are. Just make sure your rear backspace, (and width), fits OK and you will be fine!! pdq67
