Hi all I've got a Pro Street 67 Camaro, and want to drive it on the street and be legal. Here in Manitoba we have a 60/40 split law where the wheels in back are 60 and the wheels in front can't be any less that 40% of the back tire size. (Makes no sense)

Here is my combo as of now. I am using 15x14 weld draglites in back with 32x17.5-15 and in the front was using skinnies. Now that I'm converting from race car to street race car, I need to decide whether I should go with a 15" rim in front and have a regular look or have the front look like a pro touring car with 17" rims and fat tires. Keep in mind the back looks like a full race car.

I'm just wondering if this would look funny having a big combo like this in front. I can pretty much do what I want with ride height as I have the Moroso drag springs and I can lower the car if needed by taking out coils.

Anyone have a pro street car with this set-up. If so please show me some pics so I can see how it would look.

Mike

up there it is illegal to have the classic "big and little" wheel combo? did a cop tell you this, or did you read the law yourself? i have had cops tell me things weren't legal that actually were- they just wanted to give me a hard time and make me worry too much. if it is a law-what kind of an oppressive police state do you have going on up there?

Yes they actually ticket you for having a tire that is wider than 60% of the front tire.

I may be off here, but don't think you can get much wider then a 255 on the front of a First Gen. unless it has really been reworked.

And if I was you, I would pull up your Motor Vehicle laws on the web AND read the suckers myself!!!

Missouri's are under the Dept of Revenue, plus look under NHSTA at our Federal level...

Copy the suckers off and have them handy to quote.

I say this b/c I did a whole bunch of checking before I decided to drop a P/U 454 block in my car b/c we can't use a Heavi-Duty block/engine in a car per the Fed's.!!

I also checked out what was legal regarding my "pdqCBB", cheap big brake conversion b/c I didn't want any hassle at licensing I/M Inspection time..pdq67

Thanx alot PDQ I will definetely get more info on this stuff. As for a good tire size, and how it would look what are your opinions?

Hey have you seen the 315 front end conversion? Can you imagine a 315 on all four corners?

I think whomever wrote this law should be beaten with a lead pipe.....

I agree with PDQ, you wont be-able to fit much more than a 255 on the front end....I dont recall what David Pozzi ran on his 10" wide front wheel, but maybe he can add to this.....afterall, David has probally tried everything at least once.....
