I have been unable to find the answer to this in the archives. I have these wheels and want to know the best size tires for my 67. I tried the 15 x 8's in the front and they hit the inner fender before full lock. They currently have 235 60r15's on them. I am wanting to put those new tires on the 15 x 7's and run them on the front. Will they clear? What is the best for the rear 245 60r15 or 255 r6015? These are stock corvette ralleys.

Thanks,

Doug

I just did the same thing 15x7 235/60 15 4.1/4 back spacing 15x8 255/60/15 rear 4 1/4 backspacing,Chrome rallies.4 1/2 will fit but rubb sometimes in the back on the inside.

I have 15x7 Ralleys with 245/15-60 on all fours corners and they do not rub anywhere.

Judd,

Did you use the standard corvette 4"BS wheels?

Thanks,

I'll check this evening. Sorry, but, I have been putting my 12 bolt in and didn't realize that you had posted another question. I'll just send you an email.

I have read most of the threads on this topic and have arrived at the following conclusion:
1967,68 cars, go with 15x7's on front with P215/60R15's. Anything wider will rub in the front with a 60 bias tire.
1969 cars can fit wider tires in the front, so don't use them as examples for 67, 68 cars.

15x7's in the back with max P245/60R15's.
OR
15x8's in the back with P255/60R15's.

My 68 combo will be:
15x7 P215/60R15's front
15x7 P245/60R15's rear

One other suggestion for up front is P215/65R15 on a 15x7 instead of the P215/60R15. -Dan

Those combos look good I'm sure but, I like to be able to rotate the tires every once in a while.

Ok, Here is what I ended up doing. Put 235/60/r15's on the 15X8X4's and 225/60/R15's on the 15X7X4's. Have driven it just home from the tire store. Will get the front end aligned tomorrow and give it some more testing. No rubbing so far. I lowered the front 1" by using mood 6308 springs. The 225's fill up the wheel well and look great. The 235's look a little small on the rear, but still a nice stance.
